no child misses out

One day, Tony was invited to a kindergarten to present children with free books on behalf of a literacy charity. “I had just handed out the last book when an eerie wail filled the room like I have never heard before or since. There was something deep and primeval about the sound that stopped everyone in their tracks. The cry was coming from a small boy, about 4 or 5 years old, who had arrived at the kindy after the books had been ordered. There were no books for him! He had been overlooked. At that moment, he was the loneliest boy in the world and he sure let us know it!!! The female staff of the kindy immediately rushed around like demons and quickly rustled up some books for him. That young fellow taught me an invaluable lesson that day. We have to ensure no child misses out.”
